What we Believe
We Believe the Old and New Testaments are the
inspired and trustworthy Word of God. The
New Testament, which shows us the New Covenant, is our guide for how we live
and what we believe. God’s Word is the
final authority for our lives as Christians.
We Believe there is one God, the Creator of
everything, who is perfect and exists forever as three persons: the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe God
makes us holy through His Word and the Holy Spirit. We also believe in living with purity and a
heart devoted to Him.
We Believe God created people in His image, but sin
caused separation from Him and spiritual death. The only way to be saved and have spiritual
life is to be made new by the Holy Spirit. This is called being “born again”
and happens through faith in Jesus and confessing Him as Lord.
We Believe water baptism—being fully immersed in
water—is a command from Jesus and is only for those who believe in Him. Baptism
itself does not save us. Only the blood
of Jesus and His resurrection make us right with God and bring salvation.
We Believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Today, the Holy Spirit comforts, guides,
teaches, and gives believers power to live for God and serve others.
We Believe in the resurrection of the righteous and
the return of Jesus Christ. As the angel
said, “This same Jesus, who was taken up to heaven, will come back in the same
way.” Jesus will come in the air to raise the faithful who have died and take
living believers to be with Him. Then, He will return to the earth to establish
His kingdom and reign for a thousand years.
We Believe hell is a real place. Anyone who dies without accepting Jesus as
their Savior will be separated from God forever, with no chance to hear the
Gospel or repent afterward.
We believe healing is God working through the power
of the Holy Spirit to heal the body and free it from sickness. As we trust in God’s Word and live in the
truth of what Jesus has done for us, we can live healthy and blessed lives in
every area.
We Believe Communion reminds us of Jesus’ death until
He comes back. The bread stands for His
body that was broken for us. The cup
shows the new agreement through His blood, which gives us forgiveness and
brings us close to God.
